Kathryn Helene created and serves as primary consultant for
MindFrames Consulting, Inc. She is an experienced attorney and mediator who has
worked for the past 12 years in education, training and organizational development. She
also has a masters in theater, and has created programs using theater as a tool for
conflict resolution, addressing community health issues and to inspire disadvantaged
youth.
Ms. Helene specializes in working with technical
"knowledge workers" in fields such as IT, engineering and telecommunications. At
360 Communications/ALLTEL, she designed and taught an entire spectrum of
interpersonal skills classes for all employees and managers. For Global Knowledge she
designed a three day course, "Management Skills for IT Professionals," which she
has taught throughout the country this past year. She has also traveled to London and
Paris to conduct training.
Ms. Helenes interest in diversity began in high
school when she joined Youth for Human Dignity. Later, when she worked at the University
of Pennsylvania, she created many community learning programs that supported the West
Philadelphia neighborhood where the University is located. She continued her diversity
work at 360 Communications, where she conducted diversity interventions and
healing for markets experiencing racial conflict.
Ms. Helene has an excellent track record with participants
previously categorized as "resistant to training." She listens to employees
grappling with change and conflictfrom the front line to the boardroom. Ms. Helene
provides a "safe" environment, which draws out the hidden problems and issues
participants often find hard to discuss. Unflinching in her ability to discern, and tell
the truth, she succeeds by challenging participants to exercise responsibility and
creativity in tackling their own problems.
Ms. Helene lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and, in
addition to skateboarding with her son, she studies and teaches Tai Chi Chuan.
